Josh Johnson leads Baltimore Ravens to TD on their opening drive

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Josh Johnson (15) warms up before a game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium on Dec. 26.

Baltimore Ravens third-string quarterback and former Bengal Josh Johnson, the team's starting quarterback for Sunday's AFC North showdown at Paul Brown Stadium between the Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, led Baltimore to a touchdown on its opening drive of the Week 16 game, completing six of his eight attempts for 58 yards.

Johnson found Rashod Bateman in the end zone for a 4-yard touchdown pass on 3rd-and-goal to give Baltimore a first-quarter lead of 7-.

The Bengals regained the lead - 10-7 - a short time later on running back Joe Mixon's 1-yard touchdown run up the middle.

Johnson, who played in two games for the Bengals in 2013, replaced Mike White at quarterback for the New York Jets during the third quarter of their October game against Cincinnati. It was Johnson's first NFL regular-season action since 2018.

In the Bengals' 41-17 win in Baltimore in October, Lamar Jackson - who missed Sunday's game with an ankle injury - completed 15 of 31 attempts for 257 passing yards with a touchdown, adding 88 rushing yards on 12 carries.
