MEREDITH: A GIANT LEHO IS LAL THAT REMAINS AFTER AN SUV BACKED INTO AND CRASHED INTO THIS HOME THIS MORNING IN SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, TRAPPING A YOUNG WOMAN INSI.DE SYCAMORE FIRE DEPARTMENT TELLS ME MONDAY MORNING THE DRIVEOFR THIS SUV ON LIMERICK AVENUE SUFFERED AN APPARENT MEDICAL EPISODE. TWO KIDS WERE ALSO INSIDE THE SUV AT THE TIME OF THE CSHRA THE SUV REPORTEDLY SPED IN REVERSE, AT THE NEIGHBORS ON, AND INTO THEIR HOME. THE CAR CRASHED INTO 19-YEAR-OLD ROYAL HIBBETT-SMITH’S ROOM AS SHE LAY IN BED, LIKELY SAVGIN HER LIFE. THE SUV AND DEBRIS TRAPPED HER BUT THE RESCUE CREWS LATER FREED R.HE SHE AND THE DRIVER WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL TBU ARE EXPECTED TO LIVE. HIBBETT-SMITH’S MOM KIM WAS ALSO HOME WITH HER GRANDSON WHEN SHE HEARD AND FELT THE CRA.SH SHE SAID THE DRIVER WAS CONSCIOUS BUT NOT AWARE OF WHAT HAD HAPPENED. SHE SAID SHE LEAPT INTO ACTION WORKING TO SAVE HER DAUGHTERND A KIDS INSIDE THE SUV. >> SO WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR, I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND OPENED THE DOOR AND LET THE KIDS OUT. WAI S JUST TRYING TO PULMYL DEGREE AND EVERYTHING -- I KNEW I COULD NOT PURSUE A CAR, BUT I TRY TO PUSH IT ANYWAY AND EVERYTHING AND I THOUGHT ABOUT GETTING BACK IN E THCAR, WHICH I DID, AND I WAS GOING TORY T TO TU RN THE CAR BACK ON AND MOVE THE CAR. AND MY DAUGHTER -- I JUST GOT OUT ANDAS W TRYING TO MOVE TO DEBRIS AND I DIDN’T HEAR ANYTHING FROM HER. Car crashes into Sycamore Township home, trapping 19-year-old who was laying in bed
A 19-year-old was rescued after a car crashed into her house while she was laying in bed in Sycamore Township Monday.It happened around 8 a.m. when a driver had a medical episode and crashed into a home with four people inside in the 4000 block of Limerick Avenue.Sycamore Township Fire Chief Rob Penny said the car and debris trapped the 19-year-old who was laying on her bed.Penny said the bed likely saved her from any injuries due to the cushioning and she was rescued with minor injuries. The driver was taken to the hospital to get evaluated following his medical episode. Red Cross is going to help relocate the family while the damage is fixed.
