Xavier’s KyKy Tandy

Xavier Musketeers guard KyKy Tandy (15) shoots for three in the second half of the NCAA basketball game between the Xavier Musketeers and the Norfolk State Spartans at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021. Xavier remained unbeaten on the season with an 88-48 win over the Spartans.

During Travis Steele's pre-game press conference Friday ahead of Saturday's visit from Marquette, Steele announced that junior guard KyKy Tandy needs season-ending surgery for a stress fracture in his left leg.

"KyKy is going to be out the rest of the year," said Steele. "He has an injury, unfortunately ... he's gonna have to have surgery. But he's gonna work really hard with his rehab and work with our doctors here, and hopefully, he'll be back sooner rather than later."

Tandy's played in five games this season for a total of 33 minutes. The junior from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, entered the transfer portal after last season before deciding to return to the team this season.
