NFL Playoff Picture: Cincinnati Bengals AFC prediction

It's truly the most wonderful time of the year, mobsters. The Cincinnati Bengals are pushing toward a playoff berth that's a year ahead of schedule, the Cincinnati Bearcats have more than a puncher's chance to take down mighty Alabama, the Xavier Musketeers appear to be a legit contender on the hardwood, and FC Cincinnati again has a new head coach.

If you're looking for intriguing sports storylines here in the Republic of Cincinnati, we've got plenty.

First, The Men at 1 Paul Brown Stadium. I'm personally convinced Saint Joe Burrow will lead the Bengals to a curse-breaking win this postseason, and I say that despite everything that's gone wrong in the five giveaway losses the team's suffered this season.

Sure, the team has only played two complete games this year (at Baltimore/vs. Pittsburgh). But, there's no denying they have the pieces in place to compete with anyone in the NFL right now and have a chance to beat them. The AFC is clearly ruled by New England and Kansas City. The Patriots are back to being a true Bill Belichick team (controlling defense and efficient offense) and the Chiefs have turned the defensive woes around and are now winning despite Patrick Mahomes still making several facepalm errors during games.

So, what do you think? I'll call it now: The Bengals make the playoffs as the fourth seed via a 10-7 record and win a playoff game at home over the Bills or Colts. Sound off in the comments.
