CVG expects big volume of travelers

Rajiv Radhay, 34, of Orlando, Fla., waits in the ticketing area, Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron, Ky.

Holiday travel through Greater Cincinnati will continue at a high volume for the rest of December, reaching 90% of 2019 levels during the same time period, airport executives predict.

The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport expects holiday travel to be spread out over the next two weeks, beginning on Saturday and lasting until Sunday, Jan. 2, and in high volume.

The airport anticipates busier days to take place on Monday, Dec. 20, and Sunday, Jan. 2, according to a news release. Busiest departure times will be from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and busier arrival times will be from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. on most days, the airport said.

"As people plan for their trips, we encourage travelers to travel healthy and adhere to good public health practices," Candace McGraw, the airport's chief executive officer, said in a statement.
