Old Bolton & Lunsford Funeral Home campus in Westwood to house two eateries

Here's a rendering of an elevated view of the Italian and Mexican restaurants to be developed in a former funeral home in Westwood.

You may be able to tuck into risotto and burritos at new eateries in the heart of Westwood’s historic entertainment district as soon as spring 2023.

Operators of the upscale Ivory House steak and seafood in that Cincinnati neighborhood plan to redevelop the former Bolton & Lunsford Funeral Home buildings at 3042 Harrison Ave. into two restaurants.

Ivory House operators, EP Investment Group of Westwood, will turn the north funeral home building into a mid-priced Italian restaurant called Terrazza Trattoria and the south building into an affordable Mexican grill-style restaurant and bar called named Paloma’s.

The buildings are connected by a porte-cochere.

The restaurant development to be called “Alfresco At Town Hall” will be situated in the Westwood Town Center Historic District, across the street from Westwood Town Hall.

There will be dining outside and inside the 1920s-era buildings that offered funeral and burial services until early 2020, Greg Hand, president of Westwood Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation, said in an email.

The former Bolton & Lunsford Funeral Home in Westwood will get new life as a development with two restaurants.

The nonprofit neighborhood redevelopment group will help EP Investment Group develop Alfresco At Town Hall, where the outdoor dining will be in glass-enclosed spaces and on terraces.

“We intend to retain the existing structures of the former Bolton & Lunsford Funeral Home to bring two new local restaurant concepts to Westwood’s front door,” Frank Eversole, co-owner of EP Investment Group, said in a news release.
