Red Cross 90999, schools, how to help

People around the country are rallying to help people affected by the tornadoes that touched down in Kentucky late Friday and early Saturday. 

Emergency responders are still clearing debris and have encouraged people to stay clear of the area but national and local organizations have stepped up to help assist in any way they can.

Here's a list of how you can help.

Matthew 25: Ministries

Local humanitarian aid organization Matthew 25: Ministries is accepting donations on its website. The team headed for Kentucky on Monday morning with donations and plans to provide laundry services as well as other support to the community.

The organization is requesting monetary donations, cases of water bottles, personal care products, cleaning supplies, paper products, baby and infant supplies and first-aid items.

Beechwood Independent Schools and the City of Fort Mitchell

Beechwood will have a trailer outside the school to accept donations of bottled water, personal care products, baby products, cleaning supplies and other items for those affected by the tornadoes.
