Ja’Marr Chase is first NFL rookie in 2021 with 1,000 yards receiving

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (1) celebrates a touchdown reception before an official’s review rules the pass incomplete in the second quarter of the NFL Week 14 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Francisco 49ers at Paul Brown Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021.

Cincinnati Bengals rookie receiver Ja'Marr Chase eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in receiving in the fourth quarter of his 13th National Football League game.

Chase, who entered Sunday's Week 14 game against the San Francisco 49ers ranked 6th in the NFL - and first among rookies - with 958 receiving yards, surpassed 1,000 yards on a 13-yard catch from Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

Chase is just the third receiver in Bengals' history with a 1,000-yard season as a rookie, joining A.J. Green (1,057) in 2011 and Cris Collinsworth (1,009) in 1981. He's just the 24th rookie in NFL history - and 20th in the Super Bowl era - with 1,000 yards receiving in a season.
