Not much went right for Cincinnati in the first three quarters, aside from running back Joe Mixon going over the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the third time in five NFL seasons. Defensive back Vonn Bell's taunting penalty extended a San Francisco touchdown drive, star defensive end Trey Hendrickson hurt his back, there were fumbles on kick returns, etc.
The Cincinnati Bengals trailed 20-6 entering the fourth quarter of Sunday's Week 14 game against the San Francisco 49ers at Paul Brown Stadium.
Then, quarterback Joe Burrow found Ja'Marr Chase for the first of two fourth-quarter touchdowns. And Chase became the first NFL rookie this season and third in Bengals' history to eclipse the 1,000-yard receiving mark.
However, the Bengals' fourth-quarter success ran out in overtime, as they couldn't stop the Niners' offense after kicking a go-ahead field goal. Brandon Aiyuk's game-winning touchdown catch lifted San Francisco to a 26-23 win, dropping the Bengals to 7-6 this season.
