The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures in the Cincinnati area will drop by Saturday afternoon, with wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph expected throughout the region.
Saturday's forecast is mostly cloudy as temperatures dropping to around 40 degrees by 4 p.m., with a west wind of 17 to 20 mph, forecasters said. Wind gusts are expected to reach as high as 38 mph.
Skies will clear gradually Saturday night with temperatures reaching a low of around 29 degrees, according to the forecast. Winds are predicted to calm to around 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
Greater Cincinnati is currently under a hazardous weather outlook largely due to "advisory level winds," the National Weather Service said, adding the windiest conditions will occur between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items like umbrellas and trash cans. Drivers of high-profile vehicles are urged to use caution.
Duke Energy reported thousands of customers in the Cincinnati area were without power late Saturday morning. Most areas are expected to have power restored by 5:15 p.m.
Sunday's forecast predicts sunny conditions with a high temperature near 47 degrees. The weather will remain clear going into the evening.
