For years, Oreo has called itself “milk’s favorite cookie.” Now it's aiming for a different glass. The Mondelēz International brand said it wants to be known as “wine’s favorite cookie.”
Oreo Thins and Barefoot Wine announced Tuesday that they have teamed up with a small-batch release: Barefoot x Oreo Thins Red Blend Wine.
The wine will be available starting Thursday for $24.99, while supplies last, at BarefootWine.com/OREOTHINS. Each delivery order includes two bottles of the 750mL wine and a package of Oreo Thins cookies.
The red blend includes “flavors of chocolate and cookies and creme along with notes of oak,” the companies said, adding the wine was also crafted to be "enjoyed together as a perfect pairing.”

Chocolate-flavored wine and beer aren't new or unheard of, and there are also wine-infused chocolates.
“Everyone knows that red wine pairs well with chocolate, but OREO THINS and America’s most loved wine, Barefoot Wine, are collaborating to take this classic combination to a whole new delicious level,” said Sydney Kranzmann, Oreo Thins brand manager, in a statement shared with USA TODAY.
Kranzmann said the crispier Oreo Thins are ”the perfect OREO cookie for adults – so we are excited to showcase a new grown-up pairing with Barefoot Wine.”
How fast will Oreo wine sell out?
Based on past collaborations and special items, expect the wine to sell out fast. Chipotle Mexican Grill created a cilantro soap that sold out within hours.
Ahead of Thanksgiving, Hershey released a Reese's Thanksgiving Pie, a 9-inch, 3.25-pound Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Only 3,000 were available, and they quickly sold out.
