Heavy rains moved out of the region Monday morning, leaving clearing skies and the possibility of gusty winds.
Temperatures are also expected to drop, reaching near-freezing by 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Gusts above 30 mph are possible this morning and afternoon, calming after 6 p.m.
Temperatures will dip into the 20s overnight and stay there Tuesday morning.
Winter weather is possible Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with some minor snow accumulations possible mainly south of I-70. The snow may impact morning commutes Wednesday with some slick spots on the road.

Monday: Rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 9 a.m., then a chance of rain and thunderstorms between 9 and 10 a.m. Some storms could produce heavy rainfall. Temperatures falling to around 34 by 5 p.m.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, high near 52. A chance of showers after 1 p.m.
Friday: Mostly cloudy, high near 64. A chance of showers after 1 p.m.
