Former Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Brian Kelly has had quite an eventful week: He decided to leave Notre Dame for the LSU Tigers; he apologized to Fighting Irish players for a late-night text he sent Monday night indicating that he was sorry they found out via social media and he wanted to share the news in person, adding that his love for them is limitless; he addressed the team in person Tuesday morning, reportedly for less than two minutes; he was introduced as the Tigers' new head coach; he spoke to a crowd at the LSU men's basketball team's game Wednesday night against Ohio with an accent - many tweeted - that hadn't been previously heard from the Massachusetts native; and he appeared Thursday night at the women's basketball game against Iowa State in Baton Rouge.
Social media reactions to Kelly wasting no time trying to adapt to his new surroundings with a seemingly brand-new Louisiana accent:
Former Bearcats defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman, who joined Kelly's coaching staff at ND earlier this year, is expected to replace Kelly as the Fighting Irish's new head coach.
