After year off, Winterfest returns to Kings Island this weekend


After a year off, Winterfest returns to Kings Island Friday.Featuring more than 5 million lights, the Mason, Ohio, amusement park will transform into a winter wonderland this Christmas season. Ice skate on the famous Royal Fountain, snack on holiday favorites, listen to holiday carolers and watch several holiday shows – all included with access to the park. The Wonderland Parade will feature more than 150 festive performers and eight floats with classic themes such as toy boxes, gingerbread houses and even a float for the big man himself: Santa Claus.The parade will stop several times along the route to allow guests to participate in the show.Of course, no trip to Kings Island is complete without the rides. More than 20 rides will be open, including Mystic Timbers at Kings Mills Antique Autos. The 2020 event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
