'Tis the season for festivities: lights, trees and of course, the time-honored tradition of Christmas cookies.
Whether you prefer store-bought or have cherished family recipes, it's that time of year to bake, eat and share your favorite Christmas cookies.
Google recently shared a list of uniquely searched Christmas cookies by state with USA TODAY, showing cookies that were over-represented in a state compared to the country as a whole. The map includes searches from Nov. 29 to Dec. 6, just as the Christmas cookie season was getting started.

Ohio's most-searched Christmas cookies were Snowball Cookies, the bite-sized butter cookies covered in powdered sugar.
People in Kentucky and Indiana had the same idea when it comes to cookies, with Christmas Cookie Fudge as the most-searched recipe in both states.
Not every state went with such classic Christmas cookies. Colorado, Iowa, South Dakota and Wyoming all searched the most for Keto Christmas Cookies, and Washington did away with butter and eggs altogether, searching most for Vegan Christmas Cookies.
