Rain is in the forecast Thanksgiving Day, following days with mostly dray weather and chilly temperatures.
The National Weather Service is predicting rain mainly after 7 a.m. on Thursday for the holiday, with a high near 48. Black Friday will be clear with a nigh near 39 and the possibility of a few flurries.
Even with the threat of large storms across the eastern U.S. that could disrupt travel on Thanksgiving, the NWS said no hazardous weather is expected for traveling throughout the week, even with the chance of some snow Friday.
The NWS has Thanksgiving Day weather statistics for Cincinnati has data going back to 1871. According to those records, the highest recorded temperature was at 71 degrees in 1896 and the lowest recorded temperature was three degrees in 1930.
Snowfall on the holiday is unusual in Cincinnati, with the most snowfall recorded at 2.1 inches in 1938, and the most precipitation at 2.62 inches in 2010.
