The San Francisco 49ers waived former Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick, the team announced Tuesday.
Kirkpatrick, 32, signed with the Niners in September and appeared in six games with one start, recording seven total tackles. He was inactive for San Francisco's win Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams.
Kirkpatrick, who played last season for the Arizona Cardinals, spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Bengals.
The Bengals are scheduled to welcome the Niners for a Week 14 game at Paul Brown Stadium on Dec. 12.
Kirkpatrick had three interceptions and 56 tackles in the 14 games in which he appeared for the Cardinals last season, including 11 starts. He signed a one-year deal with Arizona in August 2020 and became a free agent at the end of the season.
The Bengals released Kirkpatrick, their first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, in March 2020.
