Szymborski of BBWAA’s Cincinnati chapter didn’t vote India for NLROY

Cincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India (6) adjusts his hair before putting on his batting helmet in the dugout in the third inning of a baseball game against the Miami Marlins, Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

Cincinnati Reds infielder Jonathan India was named the National League's top rookie, and it was almost unanimous.

India received 29 of 30 first-place votes to earn the NL Rookie of the Year Award on Monday night, becoming the first Reds' player to do so since Scott Williamson in 1999.

The only first-place vote for Miami Marlins pitcher Trevor Rogers - who finished a distant second in voting - came from one of the two members of the Cincinnati chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America: FanGraphs' Dan Szymborski.
