Seven Southwest Ohio high school football teams representing six counties are still alive in the OHSAA football playoffs and will take part in regional final games Friday night. The winners will then advance to the state semifinals Nov. 26 with an eye on state championships the following week at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
Here are the times and locations for this Friday's regional finals in Divisions I,II, III and IV.
Division I
Lakota West vs. Moeller
The Firebirds and Crusaders tangle at Mason's Atrium Stadium at 7 p.m. Friday. Lakota West advanced by defeating 2020 state champion St. Xavier 12-2 last Friday. Coach Tom Bolden is back in a regional final for the first time since 2018 when he headed up the Colerain program.
Moeller downed Princeton 28-21. The Crusaders are in a regional final for the first time since 2014 and are playing Lakota West for the first time since 2006 (Firebirds won 13-12).
Division II
Piqua vs. Winton Woods
The Indians and Warriors will do battle at Northmont High School Friday at 7 p.m. Winton Woods advanced with a second straight statement victory. After knocking out unbeaten Kings, the Warriors avenged an early-season loss to La Salle by overwhelming the Lancers 42-25. Winton Woods has won six straight games since an Oct. 1 loss at Anderson.
Division III, Region 12
Badin vs. Bellbrook
Badin is now the lone Southwest Ohio team that is unbeaten after their 45-10 thumping of St. Mary's Memorial in the regional final. The 12-0 Rams face Bellbrook Friday night at Trotwood-Madison. Bellbrook eliminated Tipp City Tippecanoe 38-7. The Golden Eagles are 11-2. Badin defeated them back on Aug. 27, 17-7.
Division III, Region 11
Granville vs. Western Brown
Western Brown will travel to Teays Valley High School in Ashville to take on unbeaten Granville Friday night at 7 p.m. Western Brown advanced 42-35 over Jackson. The Broncos have won six straight since losing at Clinton-Massie, a Division IV regional finalist, Oct. 1.
The Blue Aces of Granville are 12-0 after getting by London 15-14 in a regional semifinal.
Division IV
Clinton-Massie vs. McNicholas
The Falcons of Clinton County will travel to Princeton's Pat Mancuso Viking Stadium to take on McNicholas Friday at 7 p.m Clinton-Massie handed Wyoming their first defeat of the season in the regional semifinal.
The Rockets stopped Eaton 33-14. Their only loss has come to Badin who plays in the Division III regional final.
After the state semifinals, OHSAA championship games for Divisions I-IV will be in Canton either Thursday, Dec. 2 or Friday, Dec. 3. Divisions V-VII play Saturday, Dec. 4. Times for divisions have not yet been determined.
