Badin 45, St. Mary's Memorial 10
The undefeated Badin Rams met 10-win St. Mary’s Memorial and blew the Roughriders right out of the playoffs. After St. Mary’s Memorial cut the Badin lead to 24-10 in the third quarter, Badin responded quickly and often, scoring 21-unanswered points in the game’s final 14:35. The only touchdown of the night for the Roughriders came in the first quarter and tied the game 7-7. Braden Hemmelgarn returned a Badin kickoff 82-yards to the house and it looked like a good game was brewing. The Rams only mustered a field goal on the next drive to go up 10-7, but a punt return by Braedyn Moore ended the first quarter and the Roughriders’ close game. Badin advances and will play Bellbrook in the Division III, Region 12 finals. A win sends the team to the state semifinals.

Shutout No. 6 on the season for the Bishop Brossart defense keeps the Mustangs undefeated at 12-0. Bishop Brossart reacyed the third round of the Class 1A playoffs thanks in part to the staunch D and three rushing touchdowns from senior Jed Martin. Martin scored the game’s first two TDs and capped off with the final score. Both teams met on Oct. 1 in a 14-0 shutout win, but the playoff rematch was closer to blowout territory. Neither team scored in the second half, sending the Mustangs cruising into the 1A state quarterfinals.

Beechwood 48, Holy Cross 0
Make it 20-consecutive wins now for the defending 2A champions Beechwood Tigers. Holy Cross had no answer on offense and couldn’t stop the ultra-efficient Beechwood offense. Tigers quarterback Cameron Hergott was just 7-11, but had four touchdowns and 164 yards. Backup QB Clay Hayden even connected on a 50-yard pass to Luke Erdman. Parker Mason caught three passes for 124 and two touchdowns. Torin O’Shea caught two passes, both touchdowns. On the ground, Hergott rushed five times and scored while Mitchell Berger scored on one of his four attempts. Holy Cross running back Lavarr Jones was the only player to get substantial yardage against the Tigers, rushing 17 times for 79 yards. Despite having the ball for over 30 minutes to Beechwood’s 17 minutes, the Indians had 114 yards of offense. The Tigers had 343 yards. The 48-point win was the first Beechwood win to not be by 50 or more points since the same two teams played on Oct. 8, Beechwood winning 56-7.

Walton-Verona’s plan was simple: get the ball to Tyson Beach and watch him go. The sophomore running back scored each of the Bearcats’ four touchdowns and bookended the night with a pair of 50-yard scoring runs. Carroll County got on the board with five minutes left in the third. With a chance to get back in the game, the Bearcats went 80-yards in seven plays, shutting the door on the Panthers. Beach rushed 11 times for 158 yards and three touchdowns. His receiving score came on his lone reception of the night.

Covington Catholic 35, Conner 14
A failed PAT and a quick responding score gave Conner a 7-6 lead over Covington Catholic after one quarter. Twenty-one unanswered points later and the Colonels weren’t worried about a first quarter deficit. Quarterback Preston Agee and running back Reid Hummel did most of the damage to the Cougars. Agee scored on a 37-yard keeper to go up 6-0 and then scored from a yard out to retake a 14-7 lead. Hummel, who rushed eight times for 131 yards, followed Agee with a 50-yard trip to the endzone and a 39-yarder to end the game. Conner quarterback Alex Castrucci was 7-9 for 150 yards, half of which came on one play: a 76-yard scoring pass to Alijah Thompson. The Cougars did have the most passing yards, but the ground game was the difference as the Colonels outgained Conner 297-58 on the ground. Covington Catholic scored Since a 2-3 start, CovCath has won seven-straight contests.
