Bearcats try to keep momentum going vs. Georgia

In order to restore the University of Cincinnati men's basketball program to one of the elites in the country, first-year coach Wes Miller knows he needs to step up his recruiting.

One of Miller's first steps in doing that after taking over the UC program in April was bringing in assistant coach Chad Dollar.

About a month after being hired at Cincinnati, Miller handpicked Dollar as the final piece to his coaching staff. Widely regarded as one of the top recruiters in college basketball. Dollar joined Miller's staff after serving the past three years as an assistant under coach Tom Crean at the University of Georgia.

"The one thing that we talked about a lot during the process of interviewing is we're doing this together," Dollar said of Miller. "This is really going to be a group effort, a staff effort. ... We want the players to look at our staff as together, all in as one. That's how we want the guys to play; we want them to play as one. We want our staff to be as one, too."

So far, so good.

Miller, Dollar and the Bearcats opened the 2021-22 season Tuesday night with a convincing 65-43 win over Evansville at Fifth Third Arena.
