The Ohio High School Athletic Association’s cross country state meets took place Saturday and featured a couple of champions from the Greater Cincinnati area.
The results listed below are only Southwest Ohio runners considered local to Cincinnati.

Division I
In the Division I boys race, Mason took home the team championship with a score of 106. William Zegarski of Little Miami won the Division I boys individual race with a time of 14:39.9. Zegarski’s time set an all-time state meet record for Division I.
Kiefer Bell, Gianni Allwein, Ryan Chevalier, Alex Deroussel and Aiden Amshoff rounded out the Greater Cincinnati DI runners with top-20 finishes. In the girls DI races, Loveland took home second place with a team score of 109. Lakota West’s Evelyn Prodoehl paced the area runners at eighth place with a time of 18:16.5. Loveland’s Jessie Gibbins was the other area top-20 finisher with a time of 18:25.2.

In the Division II races, the Mariemont boys finished fourth as a team with 185 points. Mariemont’s Sam Beeler was the lone DII area runner to finish in the top 20 in his meet, while Mariemont’s Bennett Turan finished 21st with his time of 16:16.2. In the girls meet, Waynesville earned a sixth-place finish with 205 points. Wayneville’s Samantha Erbach finished in 11th place with a time of 18:40.7. Badin’s Abby Mathews finished 19th to round out the top area finishers in the girls DII meet.

In the Division III meets, Madeira finished sixth in the girls team standings with 218 points. Madeira sent seven runners to the state meet. Taylor Bacher represented CHCA in the girls meet, finishing with a time of 19:45.5. In the boys meet, Garrett Heselgesser of Cincinnati Christian took home a 13th-place finish with a time of 16:14.9.
