Tulsa cuts Cincinnati Bearcats’ lead to two points at half

The Cincinnati Bearcats football team faced off against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes at Nippert Stadium on Nov. 6, 2021.

A 50-yard field goal by Tulsa's Zack Long with 10 seconds left in the first half at Nippert Stadium cut the Cincinnati Bearcats' lead to just two points at halftime.

UC got out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter behind rushing touchdowns from quarterback Desmond Ridder and running back Jerome Ford, but allowed the Golden Hurricane to score 12 unanswered points in the second quarter.

It's the same halftime score - 14-12 - that the Bearcats had last week during their 31-12 win at Tulane. One week earlier, UC led 13-10 at the half at Navy.

To make matters worse, Ford was on the sideline during the second quarter with an apparent left leg injury.
