A man and woman are in jail after deputies discovered drugs in their car during a traffic stop were connected to a man's death, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office said its initial investigation started when they learned 30-year-old Robert Dedden's death was drug-related. Deputies found out that Dedden made contact with a man from Cincinnati to purchase fentanyl and the man delivered the drugs to Dedden. According to the press release from the Boone County Sheriff's Office, deputies posed as Dedden on social media to purchase more fentanyl from the same man and the man agreed to deliver the fentanyl in Dedden's car in exchange for cash.Deputies saw the man leave the fentanyl and then initiated a traffic stop. Deputies confirmed the identity of the man arrested as 29-year-old Dominic Jackson. During the traffic stop, deputies saw a woman and three children all under the age 10 in the vehicle. They arrested 29-year-old Shalinda Thomas. Both Jackson and Thomas are currently in the Boone County Jail and being held without bond.
