Hamilton County residents have voted in favor of Great Parks of Hamilton County’s proposed tax levy. More than 52% of county voters opted to support Issue 29. The 0.95-mill 10-year tax levy will fund approximately 76% of the $101 million in critical infrastructure needs and approximately 56% of the $124 million in park improvements identified through the master plan process, park officials said. Homeowners in Hamilton County will pay an additional $33.25 per year ($2.77 per month) based on the market value of a $100,000 residential property.The additional funding will support natural resource management and restoration; building repairs and renovations; paved roads, trails, and parking areas; dams and bridges; playground improvements; recreational facilities; and utilities such as water, electric, technology, wastewater treatment and stormwater."We greatly appreciate the support of the voters, and we are very excited about the future of their Great Parks," Great Parks CEO Todd Palmeter said in a statement. "With this decision from the voters, we will move ahead with the needs identified in critical infrastructure and the public's priorities from the park and facility master plan improvements.
