You'd expect just water flowing through the Goose Girl Fountain in Covington, but that wasn't the case this Halloween weekend.
Bubbles had filled the fountain and poured out onto George Steinford Park in the heart of MainStrasse Village in Covington.
This isn't the first time that has happened, and the bubbles were likely the result of a prank, said Dan Hassert, Covington's communications director.
The city was already planning to drain and winterize the Goose Girl Fountain and other fountains around Covington, and on Monday had sprayed defoamer on the bubbles, Hassert said.
The bubbles caused no damage to the fountain.
"It's happened before, and we're not inexperienced at dealing with it," Hassert said.
The fountain was commissioned by the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitor's Bureau and unveiled in 1980. It's based on the "Goose Girl" fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm and represents the culture of the area, according to Covington's website.
