With registrations and races limited to maintain COVID-19 safety protocols, the Flying Pig Marathon still had 15,833 participants in nine races over the weekend.
The total is slightly more than 36 percent of the last live race in May 2019, which had 43,691 participants.

The 2021 Flying Pig did not include, as in years past, the Cincinnati Children's Kids Marathon (one mile); Pigabilities race; or Piglet Fun Run.
Version No. 23 of the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon was a first, taking place Sunday morning on Halloween. It was the first running of the area's 26.2-mile neighborhood celebration during the fall. With the coronavirus pandemic canceling the 2020 race, the Flying Pig, like other major marathons, flipped to a fall date to get a race in for 2021.
Next year's 24th Flying Pig will return to the spring on the weekend of April 29, 30, May 1.
