A 40-year-old man has drowned in a Brown County farm pond, officials with the sheriff's office now confirm. It happened just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at an undisclosed location in the Russellville area, off of State Route 125.According to investigators, dispatchers received reports that a man had fallen into the pond, dipped underwater and never resurfaced. Multiple rescue crews were called to the scene. Officials with the Brown County Sheriff's Office say they were able to pull Brian Shearer, 40, from the pond. Rescue crews were unable to resuscitate him, and Shearer was pronounced dead a short time later. The incident remains under investigation.
