The New York Jets confirmed Monday that rookie quarterback Zach Wilson is expected to miss 2-4 weeks after an MRI on his right knee revealed a PCL sprain.
Backup quarterback Mike White finished Sunday's 54-13 loss to the New England Patriots 20-of-32 with 202 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in relief of Wilson, who was injured during the second quarter. It was White's National Football League regular-season debut.
The Jets said White, 26, will get reps with the first-team offense after running the scout team since training camp.
White is in his third season with the Jets. He spent one season with the Dallas Cowboys, which drafted him in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He played two seasons collegiately at South Florida and two seasons at Western Kentucky.
NFL Network's Mike Garofolo reported Monday evening via Twitter that the Jets acquired veteran quarterback Joe Flacco from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a conditional draft pick:
Flacco signed a one-year deal with the Jets in May 2020 and played in five games for them last season. He hasn't appeared in a game for the Eagles, which signed him to a one-year deal in March.
