More potential run-ins have been reported with the group of people responsible for a ring of car thefts.Families have been reporting incidents and suspicious behavior all over Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.Stephanie Wendling of Morrow has surveillance video of the two people who first approached her home."I check my door lock about every 10 minutes it seems like," Wendling said.Wendling said her cameras alerted her when unexpected visitors came knocking at her door."I looked expecting to find a bug or something weird like that and there was a guy getting on the steps," Wendling said.Two guys stood on her porch for several minutes Sunday at 8:20 p.m."I don't know who these people are so I did go get my firearm and leaned against the door," Wendling said.She decided not to say a word yet, but one of the guys seemed to predict what may be coming next."The cops are coming!" one of them could be heard saying in the video.Wendling said she eventually asked them if they need help.She said the guy told her they're having car troubles, so she offered to call for assistance."I can call the police department or fire department for you if you'd like, and he got agitated and said, well I have a cell phone, and I said well I'd turn around to your vehicle and call from there," Wendling said. "I put my kids in the closet and called 911."Stories similar to this one are circulating in greater Cincinnati.Wendling said the Warren County Sheriff's Office told her this incident could be related to multiple car thefts happening in various counties.Springboro police addressed the issue on Facebook, saying: "The Springboro Police Department has been actively investigating the incidents occurring in our city from the onset. Several of the members of this group responsible have been identified and several apprehended."Wendling said she wants people to be aware and prepared.
