Why FC Cincy wasn’t awarded a late penalty kick vs. Orlando City

An explanation regarding the controversial non-penalty call that didn't go for FC Cincinnati in Saturday's 1-0 loss to Orlando City SC has finally been provided.

In the 90th minute of Saturday's game at TQL Stadium, Orlando's Rodrigo Schlegel was spared from a foul call and a penalty awarded to FC Cincinnati after his contact with Brandon Vazquez resulted in contact between the players that sent them both to the ground.

A field-side video review of the play upheld the original call on the field of no foul. PRO, the organization responsible for overseeing MLS officials, said in a statement released to two members of the Cincinnati media that Schlegel was pushed into Vazquez by FC Cincinnati's Nick Hagglund.
