A new restaurant is coming to a historic Covington building later this month.
Gary Ginn and Sandy Meyer, who own Blinkers Tavern Steakhouse in Covington, will be opening Governor's House Wine Bar & Kitchen in the 1800s historic mansion that belonged to former Kentucky Gov. John W. Stevenson.
The restaurant, which is next door to Blinkers Tavern, is slated to open in late October.
Stevenson was the 25th governor of Kentucky from 1867-1871 and represented the state in both houses of the U.S. Congress. He is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati.
Once open, the new restaurant and wine bar will have a menu that includes shareables, flatbreads, small plates and full-size entrees with an Italian flare as well as a full bar and a large selection of wines and bourbons.
The space will also feature party rooms and indoor and outdoor dining, according to the restaurant's website.
