GOES. MIKE: DR. BIRX, STRESSFUL POSITION, STRESSFUL YEAR. SHEREE: NO WONDER SHE WANTS TO RETIRE. MIKE: KEVIN ROBINSON IN A STRESSFUL POSITION, MANY PEOPLE WONDERING IF IT WILL BE A WHITE CHRISTMAS. KEVIN: I’M NOT RETIRING, THOUGH. A LOT OF PEOPLE HOPING FOR A WHITE CHRISTMAS. THERE WILL BE SOME SNOW AROUND ON CHRISTMAS DAY, THAT I’M FAIRLY CERTAIN OF, BUT WILL THERE BE ENOUGH TO OFFICIALLY MAKE IT A WHITE CHRISTMAS IN THE HISTORY BOOKS? WE WILL HAVE TO SEE. BEFORE WE GET THERE, LET’S ENJOY THE RIDE TOMORROW. TOMORROW IS GOING TO BE A BEAUTIFUL DAY. WE ARE TALKING LOW TO MID 50’S TOMORROW FOR HIGHS, BUT IT REALLY IS JUST A MEAN TRICK MOTHER NATURE IS PLAYING ON US BECAUSE TEMPERATURES CRASH HEADING INTO CHRISTMAS EVE THURSDAY, AND IT’S DOWNRIGHT FRIGID FOR CHRISTMAS DAY. THE GOOD NEWS AS HAS BEEN THE CASE MUCH OF THIS WINTER NOW OR AT LEAST LATE FALL, EARLY WINTER, THAT IS, IT IS JUST A QUICK SHOT OF COLD AIR. IT IS IN AND OUT BECAUSE TEMPERATURES ARE ALREADY ON THE RISE BY THE WEEKEND. I SHOWED YOU THIS BEFORE WE WENT BREAK -- 52 TOMORROW, 47. THAT’S GOING TO BE AT MIDNIGHT TOMORROW NIGHT. BY THE TIME YOU WAKE UP CHRISTMAS EVE MORNING, IT WILL ALREADY BE DOWN INTO THE 30’S ON ITS WAY DOWN INTO THE 20’S. ON CHRISTMAS DAY, WE WILL LIKELY NOT MAKE IT OUT OF THE TEENS. EVEN IF WE DO, IT’S ONLY 19, 20. IT’S GOING TO BE AWFULLY COLD. SATURDAY, WE ARE ABOVE FREEZING AND SUNDAY, BACK TO WHERE WE SHOULD BE THIS TIME OF YEAR. IT’S A QUICK SHOT OF TEETH-CHATTERING COLD, THAT’S FOR SURE. 36 OUTSIDE TONIGHT. WE HAVE ALREADY BEEN AS COLD AS WE ARE GOING TO GET TONIGHT, AND THAT IS A SIGN OR A GOOD OMEN TO THE WARM WEATHER THAT’S COMING TOMORROW. TEMPERATURES OUTSIDE, MANY OF YOU STILL DOWN BELOW THE FREEZING MARK. HILLSBORO, LOVELAND, MASON AT 31. SPRINGBORO IS AT 35. NEAR FREEZING IN NORTHERN KENTUCKY. THAT SOUTHEAST WIND IS GOING TO START TO BRING IN SOME MILDER AND TONIGHT, SO TEMPERATURES HAVE PRETTY MUCH LEVELED OUT, ABOUT AS LOW AS WE ARE GOING TO GO, AND WE WILL BEGIN TO CLIMB, ACTUALLY, TOWARDS DAYBREAK AND BY LUNCHTIME, WE WILL BE KNOCKING ON THE DOOR AT LEAST OF 15 DEGREES. CLEAR SKIES IN PLACE NOW, BUT LOOK HOW QUICKLY THESE HIGH CLOUDS ARE COMING OUR WAY. THIS IS AHEAD OF THE ARCTIC COLD FRONT. THAT, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, IS STILL WAY IN THE UPPER MIDWEST, CLOSE TO THE U.S.-CANADIAN BORDER. THAT IS HOW QUICKLY IT SWEEPS THROUGH AND REACHES THE OHIO RIVER VALLEY. CHRISTMAS EVE IS A WEATHER IMPACT DAY, GIVEN THE FACT WE WILL GO FROM RAIN TO SNOW AND CRASHING TEMPERATURES. 26 BY THURSDAY EVENING, 12 BY CHRISTMAS DAY MORNING, AND THERE’S YOUR 18 FOR THE AFTERNOON. WE WILL PROBABLY HAVE END CHILLS CHRISTMAS MORNING CLOSE TO ZERO IF NOT EVEN BELOW. YOU’VE GOT THE RAIN, THE SNOW TRANSITION, AND AGAIN, I THINK THERE WILL BE SOME SNOW SHOWERS. HERE COME THE CLOUDS. THEY WILL INCREASE TOMORROW, BUT THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF SUNSHINE EARLY. I SHOULD MENTION IT WILL ALSO BE A BREEZY DAY. WE COULD GET GUSTING AT 30 TO 35 MILE PER HOUR RANGE. THE RAIN ARRIVES AFTER DARK. IT WILL BE AFTER 7:00 OR 8:00, RAIN BEGINS TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA. THIS LINE IS THE ACTUAL COLD FRONT. IT COMES SWEEPING THROUGH AFTER MIDNIGHT. RAIN BEGINS TO TAPER OFF, BUT NOT BEFORE WE WATCH THAT TRANSITION OVER TO SNOW FIRST IN SOUTHEAST INDIANA, REACHING THE METRO PROBABLY AROUND DAYBREAK, 7:00 OR SO, AND THEN IT LOOKS LIKE IT SNOWS LONGEST FOR FOLKS EAST OF CINCINNATI, THEN WATCH WHAT HAPPENS CHRISTMAS DAY. LARGE AREA OF FLURRY AND SNOW SHOWER ACTIVITY. THE GREATEST LIKELIHOOD OF A LIGHT -- OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS IS EAST OF CINCINNATI. THE FARTHER WEST YOU GO, IT WILL BE A LITTLE HARDER. THESE ARE NOT OFFICIAL AMOUNTS, BUT I THINK THIS IS A GOOD INDICATION OR TREND OF WHERE WE ARE HEADED WITH THIS WITH LESS FARTHER WEST AND MORE TOWARD THE EAST. YOU SEE HOW THIS PLAYS OUT. I’M THINKING RIGHT NOW, PROBABLY AROUND AND INCH OR SO IN THE METRO BY THE TIME WE WRAP UP CHRISTMAS DAY. THAT MEANS THURSDAY AND THEN FRIDAY MORNING SNOWFALL. THIS IS NOT A BIG STORM FOR US, BUT WE WILL SEE IF IT IS ENOUGH TO GET US AT LEAST INTO THE HISTORY BOOKS FOR A WHITE CHRISTMAS. 31 TONIGHT. TOMORROW, BECOMING CLOUDY, BREEZY, AND MILD. THERE’S A LOOK AT YOUR DAY PLANNER. AGAIN, WE WILL CLOUD UP AND KIND OF LOSE THE SUN. YOUR SEVEN-DAY FORECAST, THERE IS YOUR ROLLER COASTER RIDE. FASTEN THE SEAT BELTS FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY AND LOOK AT THAT NICE TURNAROUND IN TEMPERATURES BY THE TIME WE MAKE IT THROUGH
