The Cincinnati Bengals announced Tuesday that they signed running back Elijah Holyfield, son of boxer Evander, to their practice squad.
Bengals starting running back Joe Mixon is dealing with an ankle injury. And running back Samaje Perine, who had his first receiving touchdown as a member of the Bengals on Sunday, was placed Monday on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, along with guard Jackson Carman.
From The Enquirer's Kelsey Conway:
Holyfield, 23, who rushed for 1,018 yards during his junior year at Georgia in 2018, signed in 2019 with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent. After spending time on the Panthers' practice squad, he signed to the Philadelphia Eagles' active roster in Dec. 2019. He appeared in one game last season for the Eagles and was waived by Philadelphia in August.
