AAA projects fewer people will be traveling for the holidays


As you might expect, fewer people will be hitting the road for Christmas and Kwanzaa. Year-end travel is projected to be down about 30% from last year. According to AAA, the numbers reflect the impact of COVID-19.AAA said Tuesday, nearly three in 10 people who traveled last year are staying home this holiday season."This year we are definitely seeing that some are taking a wait-and-see approach because of rising numbers in different areas of the country," AAA spokeswoman Jenifer Moore said.Still, more than 3 million Ohioans are expected to travel.While AAA doesn't know specifics about the trip, Moore said more travelers are hitting the road instead of flying. "Typically, automobile travel is higher than flying," Moore said. "This year though, flying has taken a deep, deep dive."
