For Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Trae Waynes, it appears his streak of bad luck with injuries will continue to plague his career. Defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo said Waynes suffered a hamstring injury on the final play against the Packers.
Waynes' injury news is significant because the 29-year-old has only played in two games for the Bengals since signing a three-year deal worth $42 million in March of 2020. In his two starts for Cincinnati, Waynes has recorded five tackles.
Anarumo was unable to say if he's expecting to be without Waynes on Sunday when the Bengals travel to Detroit to take on the Lions but did hint the player could benefit from the chance to get fully healthy.
How much time that will need to is undetermined.

"It's unfortunate a guy who really hasn't been healthy and I don't think we've seen the best of him and I think once he's healthy and fully available, I think we'll get a better Trae Waynes, I don't have any doubt," Anarumo said.
If Waynes is unable to play for any length of time, it'll be Eli Apple who starts in his place again. Apple has started four of the Bengals' five games so far this year.
Waynes missed the entire 2020 season with a pectoral injury and injured his hamstring for the first time at the end of August ahead of the Bengals' first game of this season.
Aside from Waynes, the Bengals appear to have come out of the overtime loss to the Packers relatively clean on defense. Head coach Zac Taylor said starting safety Jessie Bates will be "good to go" after suffering an injury toward the end of the game that initially looked serious.
The Bengals' first injury report of the week will come out on Wednesday.
