St. Xavier, Kings, Badin, Taft atop regions

Tuesday's official Ohio High School Athletic Association computer rankings show four Greater Cincinnati football teams on top of the Southwest regions in Divisions I-VII. OHSAA's ratings are compiled by JoeEitel.com

Despite their 33-32 upset loss to Louisville Trinity, St. Xavier still leads Division I, followed by Moeller, Lakota East and Lakota West. East and West will play each other in the season finale Oct. 22. St. Xavier hosts La Salle Friday night with a chance to win the Greater Catholic League-South.

With 16 teams advancing from each district and 17 in Division I, Region 4, either Lebanon or Oak Hills would be in jeopardy of missing the playoffs at this point.

In Division II, Region 8, undefeated Kings High School remains on top. La Salle is at No. 3 despite losing to Indianapolis Roncalli. Anderson moves to No. 5 with a win over Winton Woods, with Turpin at No. 6. Turpin winds up their season with the power trio of Winton Woods, Kings and Anderson the next three Fridays.

Little Miami currently is projected to make the playoffs, with Loveland and Talawanda on the outside.

Division III, Region 12 has unbeaten Badin on top, followed by 6-1 Monroe, with 5-1 Ross No. 4. Local teams slated to be eliminated are Woodward, New Richmond, Aiken and Goshen. 

Though they're ranked No. 1 by the media in Division IV's state rankings, Wyoming continues to be No. 2 by the computer tally in DIV, Region 16. McNicholas, Clinton-Massie and Bethel-Tate are fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.  Shroder, Batavia and Norwood would all miss with Taylor currently holding the 16th spot.

Division V, Region 20 has Taft and Reading 1-2, with Reading at No. 4. Finneytown, Clermont Northeastern, Clark Montessori, CHCA and North College Hill are right now out of the allotted 16.

In Division VI, Region 24, Gamble Montessori is at No. 5 with Cincinnati Country Day 10th. Deer Park and St. Bernard-Elmwood Place would need some help to advance. 

Cincinnati College Prep Academy comes in at No. 7 in Division VII, Region 28. New Miami and Hillcrest Academy are currently out of the picture.
