Football
Division I
Offensive player of the year: Liam Clifford, St. Xavier
The senior receiver was the Tri-Greater Catholic League South Player of the Year and First Team GCL-South with 72 receptions for 1,090 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Division I state champion Bombers. Clifford is Penn State-bound and set the St. Xavier school record for individual season and career receptions. St. Xavier coach Steve Specht calls him the best receiver he's ever coached.
Defensive player of the year: Dontay Corleone, Colerain
Corleone was the 2020 Greater Miami Conference Defensive Player of the Year in a league full of defensive talent. He was a three-time All-GMC player. Corleone had eight sacks this season and often commanded double and triple teams throughout the season. The University of Cincinnati-bound defensive lineman has been First-Team All-Southwest District the past two seasons and was Second Team All-State as a junior.
Coach of the year: Steve Specht, St. Xavier
Specht guided the Bombers to their fourth Division I state championship in a 44-3 rout of Pickerington Central on Nov. 13. The Bombers started the season 2-2 with losses to Brownsburg and Indianapolis Cathedral, then reeled off eight consecutive victories for their first state title since 2016. St. Xavier was undefeated in Ohio.

Division II
Offensive player of the year: Zach Branam, La Salle
Branam was won of the Tri-GCL South Players of the Year and was First Team. He accounted for 29 touchdowns (11 passing, 18 rushing) for the Lancers. He had 1,395 rushing yards and 1,536 throwing yards for the 8-3 Lancers who made it to the Division II state semifinals for a second straight year. As a junior, Branam led La Salle to the DII state title.
Defensive player of the year: Andrew "Bam" Booker, Winton Woods
Booker played outside linebacker/defensive end for Coach Andre Parker's Warriors who won their first Eastern Cincinnati Conference championship in their first year in the league. He had 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and returned two fumbles for touchdowns. Winton Woods finished 9-1. Booker will join his brother, Tank, at the University of Maryland.
Coach of the year: Pat McLaughlin, La Salle
While La Salle's 8-3 mark fell short of their 2019 Division II state championship team, the Lancers made it to the state semifinals again before losing to Massillon Washington, the team they defeated for the state crown the year before. Other than that, they lost to Division I state champ St. Xavier and to Indianapolis Cathedral (who also defeated St. Xavier).

Offensive player of the year: Jackson Gifford, Ross
Gifford was the Southwest Ohio Conference Offensive Player of the Year and First Team SWOC as a three-year starter for the Rams. He rushed for 1,516 yards and 23 touchdowns averaging over eight yards per carry.
Defensive player of the year: Diego Neri, Northwest
Neri was the Southwest Ohio Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First Team SWOC. He had 57 tackles in seven games and has led the Knights in tackles the past three seasons. The four-year starter will play college football at Bowling Green.
Coach of the year: Kenyon Commins, Ross
Commins led the Rams to an 8-2 mark and a Division III regional runner-up finish. He was also the SWOC Coach of the Year

Division IV
Offensive Player of the Year: C.J. Hester, Wyoming
Hester gained 1,069 yards with 16 touchdowns, including three when the Cowboys toppled Division IV state No. 1 Clinton-Massie to reach the state semifinals for a third straight season. He also had eight receptions for three scores and 51 tackles as a defensive back going both ways. Hester was named the Southwest District Offensive Player of the Year and was First Team Cincinnati Hills League.
Defensive player of the year: Harry Hilvert, Taylor
Hilvert was CHL Defensive Player of the Year and First Team. He recorded 59 tackles for the Yellowjackets and 6.5 sacks in their reduced eight-game season.
Coach of the year: Aaron Hancock, Wyoming
Hancock led the Cowboys to their third straight Division IV state semifinal despite key losses to graduation (quarterback and 2019 Mr. Football Evan Prater to Cincinnati and four-year starting linebacker Camden O'Gara to Army). Wyoming has not lost a CHL game since 2015. Hancock was also the Southwest District Division IV Coach of the Year.

Offensive player of the year: Corey Kiner, Roger Bacon
Ohio's Mr. Football was the Division V Southwest District Offensive Player of the Year and has been the Miami Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year two years running. This season he had 1,769 yards rushing with 34 touchdowns despite often not playing a full game when the Spartans led by a wide margin. He committed to LSU last May.
Defensive player of the year: Nijal Mooney, Roger Bacon
Mooney was the Co-MVC Defensive Player of the Year and was Southwest District Defensive Player of the Year. He had three sacks, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery with three of those forced fumbles coming in a 13 tackle game in the Division V semifinal vs. Ironton.
Coach of the year: Mike Blaut, Roger Bacon
Since joining the Miami Valley Conference, Roger Bacon has gone 20-3 the past two seasons and this year won a regional final and moved to the state semifinals for the first time. Blaut was also the Southwest District Coach of the Year.

Pendergast left little doubt in the postseason this year, winning sectional and district titles before claiming the Division I state singles championship. She was also named the Girls Greater Catholic League athlete of the year for the second straight season.
Co-player of the year: Shyla Aggarwal, Mason
The sophomore was named the Greater Miami Conference player of the year after winning a sectional championship and finishing as the district and state runner-up.
Co-doubles team of the year: Nina Dhaliwal-Bridget Estes, Ursuline
The duo won a sectional championship before finishing as the district runner-up to qualify for the state doubles tournament. Both were first-team Girls Greater Catholic League selections.
Co-doubles team of the year: Annie Kruse-Raina Chada, Mason
The first-team GMC tandem finished as the sectional runner-up before rallying for a district championship to qualify for state.

The junior led the Girls Greater Catholic League in kills (530) to help steer Mount Notre Dame’s run to a Division I state championship. Hendrickson was the only non-senior named first-team All-Ohio.
Co-player of the year: Hailey Green, Ursuline
Green, a first-team All-Ohio selection, led the GGCL in blocks for the Lions this season. She was also fifth in the conference in kills (256) and first in kill percentage (.530). Ursuline finished 19-5 and made the regional championship game.
Coach of the year: Kelly Crowley, Seton
Crowley led Seton to its first GGCL championship since 1997. She was named the district coach of the year and the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association Division I coach of the year.

Offensive player of the year: Cameron Hergott, Beechwood
The senior quarterback was the KFCA 2A Player of the year and the first team all-region quarterback. He led the Tigers to the 2A state championship and a 10-2 overall record. He threw for 2,467 yards and 26 touchdowns and rushed for over 1,078 yards and 15 scores. Unofficially, Hergott ended his three-year career as a starter with more than 6,200 yards passing, 65 touchdowns, and nearly 2,400 yards rushing with 34 TDs. He was named Mr. Football by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association.
Co-defensive players of the year: Gabe Savage, Ryle and Luke Stegman, Covington Catholic
Ryle’s junior linebacker averaged 13 tackles per game for the Raiders, including 11 for loss and three sacks, helping the Raiders limit district opponents to 12 points per game in the regular season. Stegman, a senior, led a CovCath defense that allowed 10 points per game. The first team all-region lineman had 12 tackles in the state semifinal loss to Bowling Green.
Coach of the Year: Noel Rash, Beechwood
He led the Tigers to their first-ever 2A state championship and 15th all-time, beating Lexington Christian 24-23 in the state final. Beechwood finished 10-2 overall, and Rash won his sixth state championship.

He led a deep and balanced Conner team to the 3A, Region 5 title with 34 points and second place to St. Xavier in the state championship. He was voted runner of the year by the region coaches.

He led Conner to its third straight 3A, Region 5 championship by placing four of the top six runners in the regional meet, and led the Cougars to second place in the state championship by placing four in the top 33 runners. The senior won the Class 2A state championship in 19:16, 26 seconds faster than the runner-up. It was her second state championship in three years. She won the Region 4 championship in 18:51 for a 30-second win, her second regional title. Schroeder led the Bluebirds to second place in the state championship and second in the regional.

He led the Mustangs to the Class 1A team championship with 36 points, 60 ahead of the runner-up. At the state meet, Brossart had the top three finishers and four of the top seven. Brossart also won the Region 4 championship by placing the top four finishers.

Golfer of the Year: Rylan Wotherspoon, Cooper
The junior was named Mr. Golf in Kentucky after finishing as state runner-up with a 3-under 141. In the state tourney, he lost in a playoff to senior Jay Nimmo, a Mississippi State signee. Wotherspoon won the Region 7 individual championship for the second straight year, shooting a 4-under 66 to win by six shots. He won seven invitational tournaments during the regular season, and won the KGCA All-State Championship at University Club of Kentucky in September. Wotherspoon has committed to the University of Cincinnati.
Coach of the Year: Jerod Cahill, St. Henry
He directed the Crusaders to the Region 7 team championship, their first regional title since 2000, when he was a player on the team. He also led St. Henry to the All “A” Classic state championship.

Co-players of the year: Lauren Carothers, Notre Dame; and Carson Smith, Dixie Heights
Carothers, a senior, led Notre Dame with 15 goals and had seven assists as she led the Pandas to a 15-3 record and the Ninth Region semifinals. She was named Miss Kentucky this year. Smith led NKY with 28 goals and 17 assists and was the Ninth Region offensive player of the year. She led Dixie to a 15-3-1 record and a victory over Notre Dame in the Ninth Region semifinals.
Coach of the Year: Alex Dean, Highlands
He led the Bluebirds to their third straight Ninth Region championship, allowing only eight goals during the season. Highlands finished 15-2-2 and lost to highly ranked Lexington Catholic in penalty kicks in the state round of 16.

Trump, a junior, was named Northern Kentucky Division I player of the year after leading Ryle to a 17-7 record, 33rd District championship, and Ninth Region runner-up. The University of Notre Dame commit had 374 kills and 179 digs, plus 33 total blocks. Long, a senior and signee with Florida State beach volleyball, led the Pandas to their first state championship since 1994. She had 376 kills, 41 blocks and 210 digs. Long and Trump are cousins.
