Preview of UC Bearcats’ clash with Tulsa

Head coach John Brannen will pit his team against Tulsa Saturday with one addition and two substractions. Mamoudou Diarra, who opted out for health reasons after appearing in three games, has rejoined the team. But Rapolas Ivanauskas has opted out of the remainder of the season, as did freshman guard Gabe Madsen.

The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team will enter Saturday's game against Tulsa having not played in 10 days but there's been plenty to talk about around the program.

The Bearcats (2-5, 0-2) face Tulsa (5-3, 2-1) on Saturday at Fifth Third Arena having seen some shuffling occur on their roster since they last played.

Mamoudou Diarra, who opted out for health reasons after appearing in three games, has rejoined UC.

However, the Bearcats also subtracted two players from the equation as graduate transfer forward Rapolas Ivanauskas opted out for the remainder of the 2020-21 season, as did freshman guard Gabe Madsen.

UC head coach John Brannen confirmed the updates for Diarra and Ivanauskas during his midweek radio show while Madsen announced his decision Thursday via Twitter.
