Mason High School announces 33 seniors as National Merit semifinalists

Thirty-three Mason High School seniors are among 192 named National Merit Semifinalists in the TriState.

They are among 16,000 semifinalists named by the National Merit Scholarship Corp. The students represent less than one percent of seniors from across the nation and include the highest scoring teens on the 2020 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

“These Comets have accomplished so much while also going to school during a global pandemic,’’ said Bobby Dodd, Mason High School’s principal.

“We appreciate that not only do these bright students do well in their classes and on the PSAT, they are also leaders in our community, school activities, sports, and performing arts.”

Besides Mason, three other southwest Ohio high schools had 10 or more semifinalists: Walnut Hills, 16; Sycamore, 13; and Turpin, 10.
