The Florence Police Department responded a report of a robbery at the Charleston Pine in the 1700 block of Charleston Ct. at 6:28 p.m.
Police also responded to St. Elizabeth Hospital for a report of a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers discovered that both incidents were related, according to a press release.
A man who lived at the Charleston Pine Apartments hired two women as escorts, the press release said. While the women were in his home, an altercation took place and one of the women, Brooke Litchfield, 21, of Louisville, pulled out a handgun and fired a round at the man.
The bullet missed the man and struck the other woman, according to the press release. Litchfield drove the other woman to St. Elizabeth Hospital. The woman who was shot was then taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center by Aircare.
Her injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening, according to the press release.
Litchfield was taken to Boone County Jail and charged with robbery, assault and wanton endangerment. The press release said the other woman and the man both face charges of prostitution.
