University of Cincinnati Bearcats associate head coach and running backs coach Dan Enos has emerged as the top candidate to become the University of Maryland Terrapins' new offensive coordinator with the school parting ways with Scottie Montgomery, according to a report Friday night via Twitter from Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel.
Enos spent this past season with the Bearcats after one season as the University of Miami Hurricanes' offensive coordinator. He also spent two seasons in 2004 and 2005 as UC's quarterbacks coach under Mark Dantonio.
Before his season at Miami, Enos was an assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach at Alabama for one season, where he coached quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in 2018. Maryland's quarterback this past season, Taulia Tagovailoa, is Tua's younger brother.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish announced Friday night that they hired defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Marcus Freeman, who spent the past four seasons at UC.
