Originally planned to be held a week after Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, Newport's own Oktoberfest has been canceled this year.
In a Facebook post, organizers cited low food vendor availability and staffing issues as the reasons for cancelation. The event was planned to run from Friday to Sunday around Newport on the Levee.
Covington's Oktoberfest was earlier in the month, Sept. 10-12. Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, which was the largest festival in the world this year after Germany's was canceled, took place last weekend.
Loveland is planning its first-ever Oktoberfest this weekend, which will run Friday and Saturday.
