In a vote that ended Sept. 17, Cincinnati.com readers selected the Cincinnati Enquirer Athletes of the Week, presented by Mercy Health, from high school sports action through Sept. 12.
Winners will receive a certificate sent through the school's athletic department. The first round will come out near the end of September, early October.

Once they reach the schools, please remember to send a picture of winning athletes with their certificates for the photo gallery to [email protected].
Ohio football team: Withrow – Withrow beat Belmont 34-0 for its third-straight shutout. The Tigers have allowed just six points in 2021.
Northern Kentucky football team: Boone County – Boone County quarterback Richard West accounted for three touchdowns as Boone County beat Lloyd 26-6.
Boys fall team: Dixie Heights soccer – The Colonels beat St. Henry 3-1 on the road before coming back home to beat Lexington Christian 5-2.
Girls fall team: Notre Dame soccer – Notre Dame picked up road wins over Simon Kenton and Conner to stay a perfect 12-0 on the season.
Ohio boys cross country runner: Noah McKee, Oak Hills – He was the highest-placing Highlander in the Little Miami XC Invitational Sept. 11, helping Oak Hills to a first-place team finish.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana boys cross country runner: Jonathan Christopher, Campbell County – The freshman finished second out of 158 runners in the Mason County Invitational.
Ohio girls cross country runner: Eva Hensley, Oak Hills – She won the Troy Twilight Invite Scarlet Race 5K in a time of 18:55.5, helping Oak Hills to a second-place team finish.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana girls cross country runner: Allie Atchley, Simon Kenton – She finished 21st out of 116 runners in the Mason County Invitational.
Ohio football player, big school: Joseph Ginnetti, Moeller - He finished with a team-high 11 tackles in Moeller's 25-7 win over Ironton.
Ohio football player, small school: Leland Jones-Royalty, Taylor - He ran for 130 yards and two touchdowns on 19 attempts in a 46-27 win over Finneytown.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana football player: Maveriq Catacora, Dayton – He had a 58-yard interception return for a score in Dayton’s loss to Estill County.
Boys golfer: Will Stamm, Beechwood – He qualified for the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association All-State meet this coming weekend, the first in school history to do so.
Girls golfer: Ella Puthoff, Ursuline - Ella led the Ursuline Lions this week with a score of 81 at the GGCL tournament, and a score of 40 at Centerville.
Ohio boys soccer player: Jadon Turner, Oak Hills – The sophomore scored both goals in the 2-0 win over Greater Miami Conference rival Hamilton Sept. 9.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana boys soccer player: Anthony Brown, Covington Latin – This junior scored 4 goals in their game against Williamstown leading the Trojans to a 5-3 victory and their second win of the season. He also scored a goal against Walton Verona for 5 goals in the week and 7 for the season.
Ohio girls soccer player: Bella Land, Kings – She had two goals and two assists in the 9-1 win over Winton Woods Sept. 7.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana girls soccer player: Gianna Syfert, Covington Latin – The junior scored three goals in their win against Carroll County and then three goals in the Trojan victory over Bellevue. She has had three hat-trick games this season giving her nine goals for the season.
Girls tennis player, singles: Neha Arcot, Ursuline – The sophomore led the Lions to victory over Mount Notre Dame with a 6-1 victory in both of her sets.
Girls tennis player, doubles team: Mary Kate Tucker and Alina Roell, Seton – The juniors are undefeated so far this fall season at 7-0 and this past week beat the first doubles team of St. Ursula Varsity B. They hold victories this season over Fairfield J/V, Talawanda Varsity, Ursuline Varsity B, Summit Country Day, Mariemont J/V, Ursuline J/V, and now St. Ursula Varsity B. They have gelled as a team, working together and supporting each other during the ups and downs of a typical tennis match.
Ohio big school volleyball player: Brooke Bultema, Ursuline – The junior had 21 kills, 2 serving aces on 21 total serves, 7 digs and 4 blocks in the 3-1 win over Seton and 20 kills, 10 blocks, 3 digs and a serving ace on 10 total serves in the loss to St. Ursula.
Ohio small school volleyball player: Georgia Schaefer, Summit Country Day – The sophomore, who leads the Miami Valley Conference in assists with 206, had 83 assists, 36 digs and 4 service aces last week in wins over Cincinnati Country Day and Norwood and a loss to Ross.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana volleyball player: Cora Taylor, St. Henry – She was named the MVP of the All ‘A’ Region Nine tournament for the champion Crusaders.
Boys water polo: Peter Hausfeld, Sycamore - He racked up 25 goals on only 31 shots and added 7 assists in the Ohio Cup Tournament in Columbus over the weekend. On defense, he swept asides opponents advances 22 times and nine times, the opponents were ejected because of something good he did.
Girls water polo: Olivia Shields, Sycamore - Olivia helped lead the team to victory against Princeton this past Wednesday. She scored 3 and assisted with 4 of the 10 goals scored against Princeton. She also made 2 steals and 2 blocks on the defensive end.
