Leslie Frazier, assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills, interviewed Sunday for the Houston Texans' head coaching vacancy, according to a report via Twitter from ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Frazier was the Cincinnati Bengals' defensive coordinator in 2003 and 2004. He was the Minnesota Vikings' head coach from 2011 to 2013.
The Bills defeated the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday - their first playoff win since 1995 - and won a Divisional Round showdown Saturday night with the Baltimore Ravens to reach the AFC Championship.
Baltimore Ravens head coach, Miami University graduate and former UC Bearcats special teams coordinator John Harbaugh endorsed Frazier as a head coach:
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and The Enquirer's Tyler Dragon on Frazier's role in Saturday's Buffalo win against the Ravens:
Last week, reports indicated that Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson pushed for the team to interview Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator and former Bengals player Eric Bieniemy for the vacancy. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said he endorsed Bieniemy in a conversation with Watson.
The Texans didn't interview Bieniemy before the initial interview window for him closed a week ago, but reportedly did request an interview with Bieniemy last week. The Philadelphia Eagles also reportedly asked to interview Bieniemy, but will wait until the Chiefs lose in the playoffs or after the Super Bowl.
