Promo West Pavillion at Ovation welcomes concert-goers with a rockin' fall lineup
With views to kill, locally-created murals and an outdoor and indoor concert stage, Newport's newest entertainment venue ovation is giving music lovers more to appreciate than ever before."There's a certain wow factor when you come into the venue and you see kind of the whole wide scope of what the venue actually is, and the looks on people's faces and they say 'omg, this is so cool!'" said Promo West Productions, AEG Presents Marketing Director Marissa McClellan.A year and a half ago, in the beginning, phases of building Ovation, they didn't know if this project would come to fruition."2020 was a rough year for the live event industry, but we are so happy to be back and so excited to be bringing a brand-new venue during this time also," McClellan said.Promo West Pavilion at Ovation is the third indoor/outdoor concert venue in America. It's divided into three independent concert spaces: indoor music hall, indoor club and an outdoor amphitheater."We have premium seats available. We also have this large lawn that you can come and hang out and sit down with your beer. There's multiple bars, which is the most important thing," McClellan said. The lineup isn't too shabby either. Kesha kicked off the first concert last weekend."This weekend, tomorrow, actually Saturday we have Atreyu, which is the WEBN fireworks preshow party, so looking forward to that and then we A Day to Remember, The Killers, Avett Brothers, Sublime, Polo G, a little bit of everything," McClellan said. While COVID-19 may have slowed things down, it didn't stop the show, but there are a few protocols to keep in mind if you plan on going to Ovation."We are requiring a proof of vaccination or a negative test within 72 hours for all of our shows," McClellan said. Promo West Pavilion at Ovation will average over 150 events each year and will offer a variety of music from some of the biggest names in rock, folk, blues, jazz, metal, country, classic rock, alternative rock and everything in between.
