Minnesota Vikings defensive backs coach Daronte Jones will interview for LSU's defensive coordinator position, according to a report Saturday night via Twitter from ESPN's Adam Rittenberg.
Jones coached the Cincinnati Bengals' secondary/cornerbacks in 2018 and 2019 before spending the season with the Vikings. The Bengals did not renew Jones' contract after the 2019 season.
Before his two seasons in Cincinnati, Jones was an assistant defensive backs coach for the Miami Dolphins.
Former Cincinnati Bearcats defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman interviewed earlier this month for LSU's position, and Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron said Freeman was their top candidate before Freeman instead left for Notre Dame.
In December, LSU parted ways with Bo Pelini, the Tigers' defensive coordinator last season.
