The Reds are tied with the San Diego Padres in the wild-card standings

The Cincinnati Reds' lead over the San Diego Padres in the National League wild-card standings was erased Tuesday night, with 29 games remaining for both teams in the 2021 Major League Baseball season.

The Padres moved into a tie with the Reds in the race for the second wild card with a 3-0 win Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks in Arizona - behind seven no-hit innings from starting pitcher Blake Snell.

The Reds' game against the St. Louis Cardinals was postponed by rain.

The Reds are 71-62 entering Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals at Great American Ball Park. The Padres are 71-62 entering their series finale with the D'backs.

The Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies trail the Reds and Padres by 2 1/2 games in the standings.
