The Big East Conference announced Thursday that Friday's scheduled game between Xavier and Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse has been pushed back one day to Saturday at 5:30 p.m. "due to additional COVID related testing precautions."
The move comes after an official who worked Tuesday's game between Butler and UConn reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 following the game.
It will allow for additional testing to ensure the Bulldogs and Musketeers can play in a safe environment.
Xavier head coach Travis Steele has a media session on Thursday afternoon to discuss the matchup.
