Evans will be one of two setters for Team USA.
A four-year player at Lakota East from 2009-2012, Evans was top-15 in the Greater Miami Conference in kills, assists, aces, digs and blocks as a junior and senior. She finished her prep career with 843 kills, 258 assists, 203 aces, 814 digs and 158 blocks.
The Thunderhawks were 81-19 overall during Evans' tenure, winning a GMC championship in 2011 and a district title in 2012. Evans was a three-time GMC first-team selection and was twice named the conference player of the year (2011, 2012). She was also first-team All-Ohio twice and was an Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year finalist.
In 2018, Evans began her professional career when she inked a deal to play overseas in Spain for Voleibol Logroño.
The United States will compete in group A alongside Puerto Rico and Canada. Group B consists of the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico and Trinidad & Tobago. Pool play runs from Aug. 26-28, and the knockout stage goes from Aug. 29-31.
